In the heart of Austria, in the sunny border triangle of Salzburger Land, Carinthia and Styria, lies the Biosphere Park Salzburger Lungau.

St. Michael and Tamsweg, the venues of the "Festival der Männerstimmen" 2024, are located in the middle of this magnificent region, surrounded by impressive mountains.

The fascination of the diversity of male singing is expressed here in an impressive and sonorous way, solely due to the choirs' different countries of origin.

The participating choirs come from all AGACH choir associations, as well as from the regional choir associations of Vienna, Lower Austria and Burgenland from the Austrian Choral Association.

On the days of the festival, all choirs present themselves at top-class concerts at historical venues and musically contribute to an ecumenical mountain devotion.

During the musical introductions on friday evening, at the "Plätzesingen" on the following days and at social singing on the alpine pasture or in the inn, the participants also have plenty of opportunities for a stimulating and inspiring exchange of ideas.

A special highlight is the festival parade on sunday, where the male choirs, together with the local population and local associations, make this day a feast.

Workshops with the most well-known speakers and choirmasters, in which newer ways of male singing are also shown, as well as a choir forum for the choir leaders round off the accompanying program.

All choirs and ensembles are personally accompanied by choir supervisors from their arrival in St. Michael until their departure.
